Rita Nolan founded MSE in 2012, and has spearheaded the development of CMR since 2015. She has more than 20 years of experience as a Montessori teacher and administrator at Near North Montessori School, one of the largest and most respected Montessori schools in the country. MSE is one of the first schools in the nation to offer a free Montessori education to children living in a high-need urban community, and houses the only Montessori Head Start program in Chicago. Rita holds Type 75 administrator certification and is certified in the Montessori Method at the primary and elementary levels. In 2011, she was selected as a Ryan Fellow, a prestigious award that enabled her to gain entrepreneurial insights on educational reform through coursework at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a field study at Alain Locke Charter School in Chicago.
